Abstracts

Abstracts of invited lectures and contributed papers are available as links after their titles above. They will be printed in a booklet given to the participants upon arrival at the conference.

Publication of conference papers

Many contributed papers presented at the conference will be publishable on the Web and in statistical journals, and several invited lectures will be based on new research papers. We shall not publish any Proceedings of the conference but shall facilitate publication of conference papers in two ways:

               Eagle’s Nest

Participants

Participation in the conference is open to statisticians from all countries. The number of participants is limited to about 80, and early registration is recommended. Accompanying persons are welcome as far as space is available.

Financial support

The Organizing Committee has received a grant from the Swedish Institute that makes it possible to give financial support to 20 participants from the Baltic countries. Those who want to participate in the conference are encouraged to register as soon as possible and to contact Imbi Traat (Estonia), Janis Lapins (Latvia), Danute Krapavickaite (Lithuania) or the Organizing Committee [e-mail address removed 2003] about the need for financial support.

If some Nordic student cannot receive financial support from her/his university it is advisable to contact the Organizing Committee [e-mail address removed 2003].

Prolongation of stay in Ammarnäs

Ammarnäs and the surrounding mountains is an excellent recreation area. If some participants like to prolong their stay at the hotel Ammarnäsgården it is possible to notify this on the registration form or later. The hotel then offers our participants accommodation and breakfast for the following prices:

The annual Potato Festival in Ammarnäs will take place on August 24 in connection with the first lifting of potatoes at the famous Potato Hill. There will be contests, music and dance in the evening.
